It is a beautiful day. “We can all go on a bike ride” says dad. Anna is a good bike rider. She pedals in the park. She goes up and down hills. Dad says, ”Jack you can go with me.” “I want to ride on two wheels” says Jack.

“Okay, we can try, “ says Dad. Dad gets his tools. Dad takes the little wheels off Jack’s bike. The bike is hard to ride. The bike wobbles. The bike falls. Jack cannot ride the bike. Dad says, “Jack I will help you.” Dad takes Jack to a big lot. The land is smooth and flat. The ground is black and hard. Dad holds on to the back of the bike. “Dad I did it” shouts Jack. ”Yippee!” yells Jack as he pedals away.

One star-filled night as Ethan looked out his bedroom window, he thought to himself, “I wish those stars could shine just for me.” Then he took a great big sack, a creaky old ladder, and a giant net and sneaked out. Ethan set the ladder on a hill, climbed to the top, and swept the stars into the sack. He ran home and put all the stars into a big tank. Then he watched them, and he watched them, and he watched them. But the stars didn’t shine like they shined in the sky. “Why don’t you shine for me like you shined in the sky?” Ethan asked the stars. “Because we miss our friend the moon,” they replied. “If he were here, then we would be happy and we would shine for you.
